Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

A Surprise Weekend

My amazing husband surprised me with a quick weekend away at the coast!
Guess where we started the weekend?
The beautiful redwoods and the amazing undergrowth.
In the rain, that was captured in the picture.
David loves nature photographs--enjoy!
Nothing seemed to escape his notice.
And then, the beautiful Oregon coast.

It was cool and slightly windy, but God gave us a beautiful 2 hours here with no rain!

The next day we had another clear two hours for a long walk on the beach collecting rocks and shells.

And my wonderful husband had called ahead for our room!
Flowers, candy and dinner!
The only glimpse of a sunset in the two days!
The blessing we received on our last morning.
A beautiful, full double rainbow right out our window.
On the way home we had to laugh at this sign.
Can you believe they have COLOR TV with HBO?
And the rooms are all "quite" wow!!
A quaint little lighthouse.

You have to love how life comes out of death,
what a picture of our spiritual life!
Amazing light.
More life.
And what 'looks' like death.....
....but is really life.
Wow
Thank you my wonderful man!! It was an awesome weekend.
I saw a lot of my husband like this, enjoying creation.
So thankful for the way he reminds me to enjoy each moment.
And each small treasure the Lord places in front of us.

Fun and DMV

We had a fun morning at the kid play center.

Felt a little out of place with all my friends adopted Chinese children!! LOL

Made it easier to find mine:)

Who is so blessed with those cute kids!

Then we had a LONG afternoon with the DMV--enough said.

But got 4 cute little, expensive pink stickers for two cars:)

It Makes Me Cry

It makes me want to cry when I know how hard he has to work for some things...

When trauma has affected his ability to learn and retain.

It hurts to know it will probably always be a struggle.

But God....

This has not taken Him unawares.

He only has the best in mind for all of us.

He formed him in his mother's womb.

HE DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES!!

Caleb and I are learning to trust in a new way!

Praise God, Your mercies are new every morning!!

Thank you God for this amazing treasure you have blessed us with!!

Your blessings overflow!!

Sewing Sisters

Erinn and Hannah have spent part of the day sewing together.

Erinn is trying her hand at a new dress pattern for her second week of spring break.
Hannah used some of her birthday money to buy this sewing book and she is trying her first project.

She is starting these dolls shown on the front, which she calls twins by the way!
I am very impressed with her ability to stay with projects recently, especially if it involves time with Erinn.

And her hand-eye coordination has been amazing for this fun hand sewing project.
Hopefully I can show some finished pictures in the next few days.

When you run out of hands.....

Look how long this sweet treasure's hair is getting!!!

Thanks to product in the Carol's Daughter line!!!

New braids for a fun photo shoot at the Speech Center!

Hannah is just learning to latch hook, all my older kids did this at one point.
But I must say she has a unique style of doing it!
This is so good for her motor processing issues, but she just runs out of hands to keep it all steady!

That must be what God gave you feet for:)
You may also notice she is squatting.

I tried to get her to sit down, thinking it would be more stable, but she prefers this posture!

It is probably a way for her to stabilize her arms against her legs and give her more control.

She has very weak arms and they are so long and gangglely (how is that for a word)!
And so in her unique style, Hannah is getting it done with both hands and feet!

Good-Bye Science Class

Yesterday was our last homeschool science class.

I loved my time and had so much fun.

Here is a picture from last week with Caleb, Imani, and Andrew who made birds nests for their homework assignment.
As our last class we studied eggs and hatching.

So what better way to study and egg, than to play with them.

Carmen, Madison, and Faith digging in.

Caleb, Hannah and Emily getting their fingers dirty.

Josiah, Andrew, and Imani on the verge of some big messes!

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!
