Final Results

Dear Supporting Friends and Family,

What an wonderful experience this has been.  The Pear Blossom 10 Mile Run was great, even though I had shin splints!  Thankfully, I was able to finish with help and encouragement my dad, Dustin Clark, and Pastor Dale Meador.

Together we raised $1,310 for water in South Sudan.  That is enough water for over 26 people for an entire generation!  Thank you for helping me to do this and for blessing all these people on my home continent.  

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13), we do not have to be strong enough to do the task that has been laid before us alone.

Update on the below information--

Caleb has now raised $1100 for water in South Sudan!!

That is water for 22 people for a lifetime!

And he is still hoping to impact the lives of more.

 Hello friends and family--

I will be running the Pear Blossom 10 miler on April 13th with Team World Vision to help change lives in Africa. 

As you know I spent my first 5 1/2 years in Liberia, West Africa.  I have personally seen and experienced the poverty and need that is abundant in many parts of Africa.  

Recently my family read together "Running for My Life" by Lopez Lomong, a former lost boy of Sudan who is now an American citizen and Olympian.  He talked about wanting to do something for the people he left behind in Africa.  He started an organization called        4 South Sudan, and teamed with World Vision to help bring clean water, education and the Word of God to many in need in Africa!

The needs are great, but I believe there is something we can do!

I am running the Pear Blossom and seeking sponsors to help me raise $500 or more for World Vision.  $50 provides clean water for 1 person for a generation. That will be enough to provide clean water for 10 people or more for an entire generation!

Can you imagine what it would be like not to have clean water available?

Agutaynen Teaching

David's brother, Stephen and his wife Ginger, are ministering to the Agutaynen people in the Philipines. They have learned the language and have been teaching from creation to Christ in their village for the last few months. Today they will be teaching on the resurection of Christ to bring all the teaching together.

I am sure they would covet your prayers as they head into this important teaching.

Last week, Manfred and Stephen went through the lesson about the Death and Burial of Jesus with our language helper. After the lesson, we asked him if everything was clear, and if he thought people would understand.
He likened the Agutaynen people to being out at sea. He said that through all of the Bible teaching over the last several months, the Agutaynen people have been brought to the shore. However, they are still in the water. He said they will now need to make a decision whether or not to get out of the water.
These last lessons, he said, are clear. The people who listen to the lessons will need to make the choice to take the last remaining steps to the beach.
We praise the Lord that our language helper understands what he must do to be saved and we hope that he has already made that decision to trust in Jesus alone. We pray that others have likewise made that decision too.
Please keep praying. We taught on the Death of Jesus two nights ago. Tonight we teach on the Resurrection. So far, we haven’t noticed much of a reaction from the people. We don’t know if they are missing something, or if they are simply taking time to absorb everything before making a decision. Please pray that the Agutaynens will be freed from their bondage to sin and Satan, and for wisdom for us to know how to proceed from here.

Agutaynens Update

The following is an update from David's brother and his team who are presently presenting the chronological teaching (creation to Christ) in the Philippines. Praying we soon have brothers and sisters in the Lord in this village.

DIGGING FOR GOLD

Our second week of Bible teaching is now completed. We again had a full crowd, with approximately 150 people in attendance, including children. We are thankful that the Lord enabled us to build a big enough building for everyone to fit under the shelter! And there is still room for more. Pray that the Lord will continue to bring the Agutaynens to hear His Word.

In reminiscing with a friend this week, Stephen was reminded of what the Agutaynens thought about us when we first moved in amongst them. Stephen's friend said that people thought we were just coming to search for lost gold. Then he said, “Now we know that you came to bring us a different kind of gold, from above.” How thankful we are that God’s Word is going forth! It is a precious treasure, and will bring many precious souls to Himself!

This week our lesson on Monday night will be about Noah & the Flood. Wednesday night will be about the Tower of Babel & Abraham. We greatly appreciate your continued prayers.

They and their partners, the Zimmerman's, will be beginning their teaching of creation thru Christ on Monday. This will be the first time the Agutaynen people will hear the Good News!

Here is the email we just received from Stephen asking for prayer in the next weeks.

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings! We want to thank you all for your continued prayers for our team and for us personally. Teaching among the Agutaynens will begin in four days, on June 8th. We are very excited. However, I would be a liar if I said I wasn't a little scared. But this is a good thing. It shows us once again that our trust needs to be in Him alone.

We want to give you a little detail concerning what will happen Monday night so you can be praying more specifically. We are telling everyone that the meeting will begin at 6:30pm (that is Monday 6:30 am in Michigan and 3:30 am in Oregon). However, it will probably start at 7. Manfred will start by giving a very brief greeting and then he will send me into the den of lions. In other words, Manfred has asked me to do the teaching regarding the Bible. So, I will spend about 10 minutes, sharing that the Bible is God's Word and that God has revealed His beautiful plan for the Agutaynens in it. After this time, Manfred will then share concerning "Who God is?" and the "Creation Story". Manfred has also asked me to read the Bible passages whenever there is one during his time. So, I will also be reading much of Genesis 1 and 2.

We are very excited, that the Agutaynens will finally hear the truth. We are excited that we won't be just sitting on the sideline. We consider it a privilege that God will be using us for His honor and glory. As you may know, Manfred has wonderful gifts and abilities that God has given him. We feel blessed that Manfred and Nadine see us as a team and that he is giving some teaching responsibilities to me. So, once again, we ask you to be praying with us.
