Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Cousins--Snow

No blogging, but lots of cousins around here.
David's brother and his family are back for their last short visit before they will be returning to the Philippines and their ministry there. Find a link to their blog on the sidebar.

Yes, I was caught in the act of starting the snow ball fight:/

Grandma braved the cold to enjoy the kids in the snow.

Rebekah, , Hannah, Luke, Caleb, Jonathan, Abbie

My sweet Hannah recovering from an abscess in her ear canal. Part of our trauma issues with this one include not letting us know when she is hurting, so we did not know till it had burst! It had to be amazingly painful. Thanks to our wonderful doctor who whisked us in at 3:30 on a Friday to take a look and get us some drops!!!

Today's busyness

My wonderfully crazy husband spent the day in Portland running a 50K--for those of you who are not into your kilometers--that is 31 miles:/

He finished--He is alive--He is sore!
5 hours 37 minutes

So I stayed busy making a doggy bed. Don't let this picture fool you---she hates it!

She would rather sleep on the floor int the busy dinning room:/

Oh yeah, I am almost done with the curtains for my bathroom redo too.

Hannah and Erinn spent the day making Hannah's birthday cake for Monday's party.

Hannah actually was enjoying the whole process, maybe a budding baker in our house?

Productive day, it makes me smile.

Happy early 8th birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Fogliasso.
My mom used to make all us girls these cakes, it was so fun seeing one for Hannah.

Hannah thought it was very funny that she was---shhhh (naked) under that dress:)

Drew Update

So we all must remember that this is a family journal as well as a public blog...

So praying you are all patient with what may look like proud parent boasting...

~~Pictures of Danielle and Ryan with public figure

~~Drew's college interview

~~Danielle's interview with the Reagan photographer

~~ And Drew's race at Cross Country Junior Nationals

Drew was hoping for a spot on the national team, but unfortunately that was not what the day held for him.

His race day was a little off.
He placed 36th of the 150 or so there.
Drew with his ever present drive, headed back home into the fray to continue to work on this wonderful gift that God has given him.

So here is the article from The Daily Evergreen.

We love you son, and look forward to what the Lord has in store for your future!

100th Anniversary of Ronald Reagan

Our beautiful oldest daughter, Danielle, has had the privilege of working at Young America's Foundation Reagan Ranch Center for about 2 years now. She is presently working as Assistant Curator of the Reagan Ranch Gallery and in the preservation of the actual Ranch, Rancho del Cielo, in the foothills of Santa Barbara.

She loves history and her job has been a total gift and joy.

Yesterday was the celebration of Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday! Danielle has been beyond busy working to prepare for the grand weekend. On Friday evening Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney were the keynote speakers at their celebration. You can find some of that here.

Just today we got the link to this interview with Steve Malone, a photographer covering many events of the Reagan's at their ranch. Danielle is sitting with him doing the interview. You can link to the interesting interview by clicking this:)

More than just a cute face....

Yeah, I know mom's are kinda prejudiced in their thinking of their kids!!

I am no exception!

This guy, with his mischievous grin, is more than just cute, fast and troublesome:)

He has a heart of gold!

Yesterday he was texting me from class about orphanages and asking if I could get him some names of some that could use some help---well yeah, no problem.

He was asking about Sarah's Covenant Homes and some maybe in Africa.

They had a project they had to do for a class that required them to raise funds and choose where to make an impact.

His heart was broken to hear that most kids had no awareness of the needs of orphans overseas, nor did they care to hear the stories of his siblings and how lack of food and medical treatment almost killed his little sister!

When he finally was able to call, he was so upset with their lack of vision. Saying over and over that he knew what $5000 could do for kids with nothing, how they could eat, get medicine, and clothes.

Their world is small!

His world is BIG!

And better yet, his God is BIG!

Though his classmates vetoed him and one other student, I KNOW this will not be the last we hear from him.

I am excited to see where God takes my amazing son in this life.

He will be traveling to San Diego this weekend with his Dad, to race in Junior National Cross Country Championships.

They are looking forward to guy time, gorging on racing, and encouraging one another.

Pray for their traveling safety, for both of them as they have homework to accomplish too, and a blessed time of encouragement to one another. And as our family focus has been, that they be aware of the opportunities God puts in their path to be a light for Him!
