About 2 weeks ago Caleb had an amazing tackle at practice!
His coaches were all like---ouch!
They were amazed he jumped back up and went at it again.
When we picked him up he had an amazing lump on his wrist!
We iced and that was the last of it....
or so we thought.
Bring on trauma affected child who does not really complain of pain.
And today 2 weeks later we end up here...

Thankfully it is not broken.
I really had the 'bad mom' fears this morning when his wrist got hit and he winced.
Then I started prodding.
The doc thought it might be broken, but guess just looking at some really deep bruising.
NOTE TO SELF>>>>
Check and recheck with a child of trauma about pain.
Then check again.
He never told me between then and today that it hurt anymore....
but it had.

oh dear.....praying he will feel better... :(
Don't feel bad- when my son was that age he fell in the schoolyard.
His thumb was sore- but not too bad since he was playing on the volleyball team EVERYDAY!!! Finally after a week he mentioned how his thumb still hurt so I brought him to the doctor- it was broken! 3 weeks in a cast. It's difficult to always do the right thing. We can just try our best.
We just had a similar experience with Honeybee. It is very hard to sort out pain, or lack of, when our kids from "hard places" are injured. I hope your little athlete heals quickly.

oh my!
We have a trauma affected child who has had 3 concussions in the past 2 years ... and not told us when she "hurt her head".
Glad it's not broken.
