Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Marathon Man

As I am still trying to catch up the news from the last month, I wanted to post this great accomplishment by that wonderful man in my life. After his AS diagnosis none of us thought he would ever have the opportunity to complete another marathon, I am glad we were wrong. Watching him delight in the opportunity to run again was an amazing thing. The title for this blog came from one of our favorite verses and the one David has been meditating on for the last 6 months or so.

Psalm 27:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Witnessing David follow through with seeking the Lord even in the pain of loosing his running was a great testimony to many around him. What a joy to watch the Lord give it back to him after a time. To make it even better, he was able to complete it with 4 men from church as a fundraiser for disabilities ministries.
