Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Fly-by in bi-planes!!
We are VERY thankful to all the men and women who have served to keep our country free!!

May God bless all those who are presently serving and keep them safe!!
Ryan F.
Michael G.
David B.
David M.
Andy W.
Chandler W.
Just a few of our close friends and family that are now serving.

Guys Day---

During Danielle's bridal shower (of which I have no pictures) the guys went trail riding!! Minus Caleb because some nice person stole his bike right from the side of our house!!!

I love this picture of Ryan---looks like he is trying to figure out what kinda family he is marrying into!!
David and his dad, Darryl, just home from the Philippines.
Drew wondering what kind of "rest" this is, the day after winning at state. Actually I have no after pictures, but they ran into lots of snow, so the trails were right muddy!!!
Darryl loving the Oregon woods and lack of humidity of the Philippines!!

State Picture Overload

So here goes with the pictures---here is the start of the 3000m. Drew is the 5th from the left, coming in with the 5th seeded time from districts.

Lap 2--Drew happily runs in the outside of lane one or lane two. Lap 3--sitting happily in about 4th position.
Lap 5--the shuffling for the final laps is starting.
Lap 6--Drew moving to the front at about 600m getting set for his kick.
At the final curve Drew has the lead and is heading in to the finish line for a first place finish. He ran a 58 second last lap to win by 4 seconds.
A picture of the top 8 on the scoreboard.
The top 8, minus 2!! Drew's coach, Piet, had the privilege to hand out the awards.
Coach Piet and Drew!
Sadly their top ranked 4x400 team did not qualify for finals.
Here is Darren, their lead off runner who had food poisoning the night before:(
Drew was the number two runner with a 51.3, right at his personal best and only 50 minutes after his 3000M win.
David ran an amazing 3rd leg!!!
And Stetson was their anchor leg. And the 1500M is off!!!
Drew sitting in second on lap 2.
Coming by with about 550 to go and setting up on the outside to swing around in the home straight away.
One of the privileges of running at historic Hayward Field is the big screen video coverage. David got this one as they were crossing the finish line for their final lap. You can see the 3:01 split.
Drew took off at the 400 to go and the field was no longer a pack.
Here you see them all spread out.
He then found another gear at 100 to go and you can see him beyond the finish line in this picture and the pack behind him.
What an amazing accomplishment Son, we are so proud of you!!!
A 57 second last lap put him here again!! Notice the crowd we gather at our state meet. Track is a big deal in Oregon!!
Another congratulations from Coach Piet.
Drew's team mate Baylee getting 2nd in the 100.
Drew hanging with Baylee as she waits her awards ceremony.
Coach Trevor with Drew. Trevor is the one who hung out with Drew on all the hard work outs and really helped him develop his speed. What a true blessing he has been for Drew.
Two happy sisters congratulating their brother!!!
David and Drew. Now I was not with David during the races, but I hear he and Trevor were making quite a seen down at the final curve!!!
Richard was Drew's team mate his freshman and sophomore year. Richard drove all night up from college to come and warm up with Drew for both of his races!!! What would we do without friendships?
Nick and Blake also traveled up both days to be there to cheer him on!!!
Another team mate, Jonathan one of the first over the hurdles to a 3rd place finish.
Matt and Drew showing of their spike wounds from their races. Actually Matt says his spike tracks are from Drew's feet---Oops!!! I guess you get those is tactical races!!!
Stetson on his way to a 4th place finish in the 800M.
And the end result was a 3rd place team finish!!! With only 7 boys competing at the meet, that is an amazing accomplishment!!!
Way to go North Medford!!!!!

He Did It Again!!!!

Yes, Drew won the 1500M for another state championship!!!

More to follow tomorrow. I need a bed!!!

Drew ran an 8:40 in the 3000M for a personal best and state's best time this year. They ran a very slow first mile with Drew taking the lead with 800 to go and running a 2:03 last 800M.

Sadly their 4x400 team did not advance to the final round.

Drew will be running the 1500m this afternoon for his last race at state.

You can find the local paper's article here
Off for Danielle's final wedding dress fitting before heading up to Eugene for the final day of racing!!

It's Gone!

My diamond that is....

I can't believe that the entire setting broke off!!

One day there and the next day gone!!

Still hoping...to maybe...find it laying around the house somewhere.

Good thing my marriage is WAY MORE than a piece of metal and a rock!!

And you know....I love the guy who gave it to me almost 25 years ago...better today than ever!!! I have been blessed beyond words for the wonderful treasure I have in my husband!!

Class is done!!!

Today I enjoyed teaching my last homeschool class!! I will miss my kids and had a great time. Hope they enjoyed it as much as I did. I was surprised with some sweet gift cards to us in the future!

We studied 19 countries and learned where they are and what continent they are on. Along with the types of animals that live in each country and some interesting sites to see in each country. I think the kids had the most fun with learning to say hello in 17 different languages--though I am sure I botched the ponunciation a lot. They also enjoyed learning to say the large population numbers.

We included games, food or crafts from each country. So they made a mancala game (Kenya) and a dreidel (Isreal). We made paper fans (Korea) and island paintings (Haiti). And we made guacamole (Mexico) and peanut sauce (Liberia). ect...

Most importantly we learned how we can pray for kids in each of these countries, and how different their lives our from ours.

I can say from our 'tests' today, that all the kids retained something!! :):) I guess we had fun and accomplished something at the same time!!

Now off to pack for state for the next two days!!!

Down Time!

Thought I better get up a picture from Erinn's 21st birthday!! We did have a small celebrations for her in the midst of the chaos, but.... I forgot to put the camera card back in the camera, so....the pictures are lost!! :( Here she is with Brenna and Devynne out to pizza that night. Happy LATE birthday sweet darling!!

Then we were blessed with a quite evening around the house last night! What a blessing from the Lord, as David has class tonight, then all the family starts coming on Thursday!!

We were able to get everyone out to play Dutch Blitz for a while. Hannah and Caleb are just learning. Caleb will be ready to really start playing soon and Hannah, well lets just say it was fun to be reminded last night that Drew once played like she does, with a card floating around the game wondering where it goes.

And yes, both Erinn and Drew said, "Not the camera--your blog with live without pictures of tonight!!!

What It Looks Like!

Well don't come to my house looking for a sit down meal---
because this is my table!!!

And don't look to take off your jacket----
because this is my coat closet!!!

Usually the most difficult thing at this moment is remembering what task I am working on and staying there till it is done!!

-finishing up Drew's school

-planning after wedding/pre anniversary vacation

-wedding one

-figuring out schedules with Danielle and Ryan coming home Thursday and then we head to State for 2 days as a family!! So looking forward to this!!!!

-wedding 2

-another big project we got started on

-my final home school class

-everyday stuff (bills, laundry, groceries, dinner)

-grandma's bills and such

-schedules for where everyone will be and when (especially with David's parents and brother here for a month from the Philippines)

Have I ever mentioned I am a big picture person and not a detail person!!! Gotta laugh!!!

In the midst of it all there is fun, laughter and joy!! This can only be accomplished through His amazing grace!!!

Thankful----that is what I am!!!

The start of the 1500M. Drew is on the outside with the fastest seeded time. Love how it looks like he is just checking out the crowd.
Drew cruised the first 2 1/2 laps out in lane 2.
Then with about 500 to go, in the lovely spring rain, he took the lead.
Drew, followed closely by Matt (who places 3rd) and Ryan (who is runner up).
Crossing the finish line to his second district championship in a time of 4:03.
Drew and his friend Ryan from the cross town rival's team!! We look forward to watching them both at state next week!!
Gotta love track humor---but it is true!!
