Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

State Picture Overload

So here goes with the pictures---here is the start of the 3000m. Drew is the 5th from the left, coming in with the 5th seeded time from districts.

Lap 2--Drew happily runs in the outside of lane one or lane two. Lap 3--sitting happily in about 4th position.
Lap 5--the shuffling for the final laps is starting.
Lap 6--Drew moving to the front at about 600m getting set for his kick.
At the final curve Drew has the lead and is heading in to the finish line for a first place finish. He ran a 58 second last lap to win by 4 seconds.
A picture of the top 8 on the scoreboard.
The top 8, minus 2!! Drew's coach, Piet, had the privilege to hand out the awards.
Coach Piet and Drew!
Sadly their top ranked 4x400 team did not qualify for finals.
Here is Darren, their lead off runner who had food poisoning the night before:(
Drew was the number two runner with a 51.3, right at his personal best and only 50 minutes after his 3000M win.
David ran an amazing 3rd leg!!!
And Stetson was their anchor leg. And the 1500M is off!!!
Drew sitting in second on lap 2.
Coming by with about 550 to go and setting up on the outside to swing around in the home straight away.
One of the privileges of running at historic Hayward Field is the big screen video coverage. David got this one as they were crossing the finish line for their final lap. You can see the 3:01 split.
Drew took off at the 400 to go and the field was no longer a pack.
Here you see them all spread out.
He then found another gear at 100 to go and you can see him beyond the finish line in this picture and the pack behind him.
What an amazing accomplishment Son, we are so proud of you!!!
A 57 second last lap put him here again!! Notice the crowd we gather at our state meet. Track is a big deal in Oregon!!
Another congratulations from Coach Piet.
Drew's team mate Baylee getting 2nd in the 100.
Drew hanging with Baylee as she waits her awards ceremony.
Coach Trevor with Drew. Trevor is the one who hung out with Drew on all the hard work outs and really helped him develop his speed. What a true blessing he has been for Drew.
Two happy sisters congratulating their brother!!!
David and Drew. Now I was not with David during the races, but I hear he and Trevor were making quite a seen down at the final curve!!!
Richard was Drew's team mate his freshman and sophomore year. Richard drove all night up from college to come and warm up with Drew for both of his races!!! What would we do without friendships?
Nick and Blake also traveled up both days to be there to cheer him on!!!
Another team mate, Jonathan one of the first over the hurdles to a 3rd place finish.
Matt and Drew showing of their spike wounds from their races. Actually Matt says his spike tracks are from Drew's feet---Oops!!! I guess you get those is tactical races!!!
Stetson on his way to a 4th place finish in the 800M.
And the end result was a 3rd place team finish!!! With only 7 boys competing at the meet, that is an amazing accomplishment!!!
Way to go North Medford!!!!!
