Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Berry Dumplings, Weeds and Mops!!

Sunday afternoon around our house was very busy. I am happily sitting down for the first time since church with my foot snugly resting in a splint to help with the plantar facitis.
We as a family were able to:
pick up the yard
mow the lawn
spray the lawn
wash two cars
get in a water fight while washing two cars
mopped the floors
clean the house for home group tonight
get the TV working well enough that grandma could take it easy
with football all afternoon
grocery shop for fruits and veggies for the week
And get these Dumplings made for our study tonight!
One is mixed berry and one is peach.

I am going to publish this recipe because it is easy and we all like it.
Those of you who know me personally may laugh at the fact that I am talking about a recipe, since I do not really like to cook and am not that good of a cook, but this is my mother-in-law's recipe and she is a great cook!
2c flour
3T sugar
3t baking powder
1t salt
1/3 cup butter or shortening
2/3 -3/4 cup milk
Mix together like a pie crust and roll out in a rectangular shape about 1/4 inch thick. Cover with 2 cups chopped fruit and sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up from long end and cut into 1 inch slices and place in greased 9 x 13 pan.
Boils 2 cups water and 1 1/2 cups sugar and pour over rolls.
Bake at 450 for 20 minutes.
They are best warm with vanilla ice cream!!!
I doubled the recipe to make both of these. Then I found out we will most likely be missing people at home group---too bad we will have left overs!!!

Eric has plantar facitis too, so I'm sure he can sympathize...he's got the handy dandy splint too. Cinnamon rolls look great! Gabrielle made some for us last week. Yummy!
